How do I host Josh in my home or camp overnight during the Through Your Eyes World Tour?

Intro

Sleep isn’t necessary, right? Well, it is, and it is even more critical when you are riding a bicycle 500 miles. That’s why I hope people will host me for a night during the tour. While you host me, we can do something to get to know each other better and learn about you and the world through your eyes. Your unique perspective and insights are an invaluable part of this journey.

Sign Up (if you haven’t already)

I should talk about signing up. After all, this grand adventure needs us all for it to be accomplishable. It’s our adventure, and your participation is crucial. If you wish to contribute even more, please sign up to host me overnight. Go to the Tour Participant Registration page and click on the city where you can host me. A couple of questions will pop up for that city. If you wish to be an overnight host, then click yes on that one. If any other options catch your eye, then consider those as well. You could even read the other opportunities. I appreciate your consideration and hope to see you on this fantastic adventure.

Once you are registered, a tour team member will reach out to coordinate the details.

Meet Up

Of course, we will still need to meet up. As usual, we are willing to meet up anywhere. Some examples are a park, a church, or a local bike shop. Those are just some examples of where we can meet up. Of course, if we meet at your house, we will keep your address private.

Get To Know Each Other

After we meet up, we will get to know each other and have the chance to talk. We can learn more about what each other likes as well as each other’s cultures.

Discover the Accommodations

First, the accommodations can be something other than your home! I am more than willing to go camping. It gives me a chance to hammock, and who doesn’t like smores around a campfire? And if you don’t have an extra room for me and my parents but still want to host us overnight. Well, we are also OK setting up a tent in your backyard.

Also, we will need room for three people as my parents will need accommodation. Communication on this part is essential. We need to know if we should have our camping gear ready or if we will have an air mattress or couch to sleep on. In addition to a place to sleep, we will need a place to shower, wash laundry, and charge batteries.

Learn a Favorite Game

I have been pushing the importance of learning about one’s culture. And while it says favorite game, it means an activity you guys do at home. My family and I have made this game called Blind Man’s Agony, where we blindfold someone and then move around the furniture. The blindfolded person has to gather three disc golf discs and return to where they started. Whoever gets the fastest time wins. That is an example of what we could do.

It doesn’t need to be something active; it could be just reading a book. I am excited to learn about your culture and getting to know you better.

Film Retrospective

I will film a daily retrospective while staying with you. I’ll discuss the day’s highlights and describe any challenges I encountered. Regarding filming, we are documenting my experiences on the tour, so please be prepared for cameras while we are with you.

Depart for Breakfast

Other than the smores remark, I have yet to talk about food. Other participants will provide breakfast and Dinner. Unless you sign up to provide food and accommodation, don’t prepare anything for us.

In the morning, we will leave for food with another tour participant. So we will say our thanks and goodbyes then. I also want to thank you now because I am thankful to everyone who has thought about or signed up! I am grateful for the support and know that this would not have been possible without the support of others. Thank you!

Josh Taylor – signing off.
